The hope of Faces and Places is to highlight and discover the rich heritage and diversity of Walton County, Florida. Walton County, Florida is one of the fastest growing counties in the nation where 71,400 of us call home. With its boarders extending from the highest natural point in Florida to its sugar-white sand and turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The county was named after Colonel George Walton, secretary of West Florida during the territorial governorship of Andrew Jackson. Walton was the son of George Walton, Governor of Georgia and a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
